Chiropractic care is for more than just back pain.

Foot problems, such as bunions, heel spurs, and plantar fasciitis, respond very well to chiropractic care - even when surgery has been recommended by another health professional.  These problems typically begin with biomechanical dysfunction in the foot - stiff joints and weak muscles in the foot, ankle, leg - and even the hip.

The stiff joints and weak muscles create stress and abnormal forces in the foot - causing the tendons and ligaments to become frayed and irritated (plantar fasciitis) or to pull too hard on the heel (heel spurs).  Abnormal forces can also cause the bones in the foot to become ugly and displaced (bunions).

At Tiferet Chiropractic, we are specially trained to evaluate your feet.  Foot pain may seem to be the same in different people, but the exact cause of your pain is unique to you.  Our as

assessment determines the true source of your pain.  We thoroughly examine the joints of your feet - looking for joints that are stiff and moving too little and joints that are overly flexible and moving too much. Both cause foot problems.  Finally, we evaluate the muscles of your feet and legs to determine if muscle weakness is contributing to your pain.

Once we assess the true cause of your unique pain, we create a treatment plan specific to your needs.  We correct joint stiffness in your feet with gentle chiropractic mobilizations.  We address frayed and irritated tendons and fascia using special deep tissue massage techniques.  We strengthen the muscles in your feet with home exercises.  This special combination of therapies creates a stronger foot and lasting relief from bunions, heel spurs, and plantar fasciitis.

Furthermore, improving the biomechanics of your feet reduces the risk of injury and degeneration in other parts of your body - and makes running and athletic performance more efficient.  Proper footwear is also extremely important - check out our info on choosing good running shoes or sandals.
