Causes of Pain

Pain is simply a message. It's your body's way of telling you that something just isn't right.  If your knee hurts when you run, there may be a weak muscle or a tight muscle that is putting abnormal stress on your knee.  Or, you may have ankle or hip stiffness - and your body is forced to compensate by asking your knee to do too much.  Either way, the pain is your knee's cry for help.

 

Sports injury, running injury, headaches, and sudden low back pain often seem to occur without rhyme or reason - but usually there is a very good reason.  Tight muscles, weak muscles and stiff joints (generally from poor posture and repetitive movements performed with poor form) force your body to compensate.  At some point, your body is no longer able to compensate, the system breaks down and pain results.  Even problems like neck pain, hip pain, heel spurs, or plantar fasciitis don't just happen overnight.  A longstanding weakness eventually gives out completely - resulting in a painful injury.
